Why do some people have a "thick
skin" and seem able to completely ignore stress, while others don't? And
what is just as interesting: Where does this "protective layer" come
from or how does it evolve? Studies have shown that people with a high
level of resistance usually have the following seven properties or personality
- Problem-solving skills: Resistant people think in a solution-focused manner; they plan
ahead but are never worried about their future.
- Accepting (personal) responsibility: Resistant people never allow themselves to be victims.
Resistant people accept things as they are but don't allow them to remain
Resistant people believe in themselves and in what they do.
- Social skills:
Resistant people do not isolate themselves when they are under stress.
- Stress management strategies: Resistant people are able to organize support and can relax.
- Positive thinking: Resistant
people do not panic when faced with new challenges; they think, "I'll
manage it somehow."
