Jenoptik
Thermographic Precision made in Germany - new high definition thermography camera series

Jenoptik is pushing thermal imaging quality one more step further towards photorealistic image quality. The new VarioCAM HD records radiometric images and images sequences of 1024 x 768 pixel resolution at a frame rate of up to 30 Hz. Additionally, Jenoptik’s opto-mechanical Resolution Enhancement (RE) technology boosts the XGA resolution to a maximum real-time resolution of 3.1 megapixel – which is unique for thermography cameras. In this effect, Jenoptik continues the success story of the proven VarioCAM® high resolution, predecessor of the VarioCAM HD series.

As a world debut for thermography, VarioCAM HD features an eye-safe Jenoptik laser rangefinder for object distance measurement. The distance information is used for thermal image correction – thus increasing measurement accuracy – and also supports the camera’s integrated auto-focus function. A GPS module enables tagging of geo-information to image data. Additional VIS still-image or video data is acquired by an integrated 8 Megapixel CMOS camera.

Comfortable image control and ergonomic handling
What you see is what you get: VarioCAM® HD features an extra-large and tough 5.6’’ TFT display and tiltable LCoS viewfinder for image display and camera control. The bright display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution is suitable for use under daylight conditions and allows for on-site temperature analysis either in real-time live-view or of recorded thermograms. Despite of its IP54 proof tough industrial quality housing, the camera is handy and allows for easy, ergonomic one-hand operation.

Multiple standard interfaces for best connections
For easy and reliable remote camera control and image transfer a variety of industrial standard interfaces are available, including GigE-Vision and wireless interfaces such as WLAN or Bluetooth.

High quality infrared optics for any application

Matching a broad variety of thermal imaging applications, a great choice of high quality infrared optics is available, ranging from wide angle to telephoto lenses. Designed and manufactured by Jenoptik’s Optical Systems division, the lenses are perfectly adapted to the new VarioCAM HD.

A versatile tool for multiple thermal imaging applications
Typical applications for the versatile VarioCAM HD encompass high end industrial and scientific research & development, predictive & preventive maintenance or building inspection.

Supporting program for the LASER World of PHOTONICS 2013
The LASER World of PHOTONICS 2013, which will be taking place from 13 to 16 May 2013 on the Messe München site, will provide an important impetus to the international photonics industry at its 40th anniversary event. The world’s leading trade fair offers a comprehensive supporting program and numerous opportunities to exchange technical news and views. The program highlights are the World of Photonics Congress practical lectures in the Photonics forums, the presentation event “Photonic Industry Report 2013”, the new “Digital Photonics Production” special exhibition and other top-class events on everything to do with Photonics trends. Every two years, the world’s leading trade fair for the optical technologies, together with the World of Photonics Congress, brings together the global leaders of the photonics industry in Munich.
