4 strategies in the “war of talents”

The battle to attract top talents is raging. Read on to find out how you could make future employees aware of your company before you actually need them.

1. Recruitment in schools: Offer tours of the company and practical placements for pupils. Send your trainees on a recruitment drive. Given that they are of a similar age, they are best able to explain what you are looking for. Establish contacts with specific teachers who can then point out to you manually skilled, service-oriented or mathematically gifted pupils.

2. Awards and prizes: Take part in competitions where prizes are given for businesses and companies providing exemplary training. By taking part, you will not only find out how you could improve day-to-day operations at your company but will also get a seal of quality to attract applicants looking for a winning employer.

3. Press work: Take steps to ensure that the local press are writing about you. Naturally, the journalists must have cause to do so. Winning awards, celebrating company anniversaries, holding open days, creating new jobs, running promotions in and with schools, sponsoring, innovations and outstanding successes are all reasons for articles.

4. Presenting your company: In the Facebook and YouTube age, a convincing company video is a wonderful recruitment tool, especially if you want to address younger employees. A short film of this type should reflect the SPIRIT of your company in a realistic and appealing manner.
