New, powerful and compact solid-state lasers allow smaller equipment
size, improved sensitivity, lower power consumption and lower
life-cycle cost in a large variety of applications. Cobolt AB, Sweden
is at the very forefront of this development. Our small and efficient
DPSS lasers cover a broad spectral range and provide exceptional
performance for today’s demanding applications.
Built on proprietary PPKTP technology, the Cobolt lasers combine high
power and wavelength flexibility with very low noise (rms < 0.3%)
and compact size.
The company’s range of single-lonitudinal mode CW lasers in the
blue-yellow includes the wavelengths 355nm, 457nm, 473 nm, 491 nm, 515
nm, 532 nm, 561nm and 594 nm, and with a unique dual-line a 491+532 nm
model. The company also offers Q-switched lasers at 1.5 ?m.
The innovative lasers are of excellent beam quality (M2 < 1.1), with
output power up to 500mW and that in a ultra-robust design
(HTCure™), hermetically sealed and of very good stabability.
There is a wide range of applications for high power, cw, visible,
diode pumped solid state (DPSS) lasers, from the very topical laser
induced fluorescence for bioanalysis, through advanced measurement
technologies, such as Raman spectroscopy and holography, to laser
displays as potential consumer devices.
The company operates out of a new facility just north of Stockholm
city. The new building hosts Cobolt AB’s complete manufacturing
line as well as R&D activities, internal sales force and
management, which offers “an all in one – short decision
structure”.
In the new facility, the company has built up a top-class clean-room
factory, perfectly optimized for manufacturing and testing the high
quality DPPS lasers – with a tripling of the production capacity.
