NEWS FROM THE TRADE SHOWS AND CONGRESS
Frontiers in Electronic Imaging Conference
Three good reasons why you shouldn’t miss the Frontiers in Electronic Imaging Conference

The Conference on Frontiers in Electronic Imaging organized by the European Optical Society will be taking place from 15 – 16 June under the umbrella of the World of Photonics Congress 2009. It addresses scientists and engineers in photosensing R&D, users of imaging solutions demanding the highest performance in their particular applications, interested professionals from all segments of academia and industry where imaging is significant, and all technically oriented persons fascinated by this field and with a keen interest in where electronic imaging is heading.

Here are three reasons why you shouldn’t miss this conference!

1. Electronic imaging is pervasive!
During the time it takes you to read this paragraph, the world’s image sensor manufacturers will have produced about 2000 electronic cameras. Soon there will be more cameras in our world than people living in it. Hence there is no doubt: Electronic imaging is pervasive! Whether in cell phones or in laptops, in still-picture or in video cameras, in game consoles, for scientific imaging or for artistic documentation, for biomedical diagnoses or for industrial production, for business or for entertainment: Solid-state image sensors are ubiquitous and indispensable tools for almost any human activity in everyday life.

2. The most promising fields of electronic imaging will be addressed!
“Frontiers in Electronic Imaging” is devoted to today’s most pertinent and promising fields of electronic imaging! Application-specific image sensors (using smart pixels and related approaches), high-performance real-time 3D imaging and the Holy Grail of electronic imaging: single-photon solid-state image sensing.

3. Renowned invited speakers and lecturers will share their latest discoveries!
The unrelenting progress of semiconductor technology and the merciless competition among suppliers is responsible for a constant stream of innovations coming out of the research labs and finding their way into everyday products. For this reason, the conference will showcase the latest achievements in electronic imaging. International speakers will present their most astonishing recent results and renowned invite speakers from Canada, France, Germany and the United Kingdom will talk about newest world records.

The EOS has recently published the advance programme. It can be downloaded at www.myeos.org/munich2009.

Be part of “Frontiers in Electronic Imaging” and join renowned scientists and engineers, have face-to-face discussions with them, get new contacts and build new relationships!
