Osram is putting a brand new contender on the racetrack: the
Lamborghini from Raeder-Motorsport, adorned with Osram logos in orange
aluminium and fitted with innovative automotive lighting. With
"Xenarc", the brightest xenon light, "Night Breaker" halogen headlamps
and energy-efficient LEDs for daylight driving, the highly tuned
Lamborghini with Osram branding on the front and side wings will be all
set to race ahead at the long-distance championships on the
Nürburgring racetrack. "Innovative and persevering are epithets
that apply equally well to the Lamborghini as they do to OSRAM. And
this is why we believe that a Lamborghini is the ideal place to display
our brand logo", explained Rick Leaman, head of Osram's Automotive
Lighting Business Unit.
The brothers Nicolas and Martin Raeder, who will be sending the "Osram
Lamborghini" to the racetrack, have tuned the Gallardo to bring it into
the ultimate technical condition. With about 550 HP, V10 engine, 7700
rpm and 110.9 HP/l, the Lamborghini Gallardo is among the best in its
class. The three team drivers, Hermann Tilke, Dirk Adorf and Peter
Oberndorfer, regularly put the car – the world's only pure racing
version of the Lamborghini Gallardo – through its paces on the
north loop.
Each year, the Nürburgring long-distance race (VLN) attracts
countless spectators. The highlight of the event is the ADAC Zurich
24-hour race on the Nürburgring, which is one of the largest motor
sports events in the world. On the demanding north loop stretch,
famously dubbed "green hell", some 220,000 spectators were able to
admire the Osram Lamborghini from 22-25 May this year while 143 TV
channels broadcasted the race around the globe.
