Analogous to the rapid growth of the photonics and electronics
industry in China, LASER World of PHOTONICS China 2008 will be doubling
its exhibition area. For the first time under the roof of the SIIEF,
the largest electronics event in China, German companies will also be
making presentations as part of the special show "German World of Laser
& Photonics."From March 18 to 20, 2008, the LASER World of PHOTONICS China 2008 will
be held for the third time, parallel to electronica & Productronica
China in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Analogous to the
rapid growth of the photonics and electronics industry in China, LASER
World of PHOTONICS China 2008 will be doubling the size of its
exhibition area, due in part to the special event of the
Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie (BMWi) [Federal
Ministry for Science and Technology] "German World of Laser &
Photonics," with 207 exhibitors from 16 countries.
For the first time under the roof of the SIIEFOn the initiative of Messe München, the LASER World of PHOTONICS
China and electronica & Productronica China will be held in
conjunction with Semicon China and the trade show of the China Printed
Circuit Association (CPCA), and for the first time will be organized
under the common roof of the "Shanghai International IT &
Electronics Fair" (SIIEF). SIIEF occupies a total of 10 halls in
the Shanghai New International Expo Center and, with a total exhibition
area of more than 120,000 square meters, is the largest electronics
event in the People's Republic of China. For the first time the entire
event is being supported by Shanghai's city government.
China's market is growing rapidly
China's market for photonics is growing rapidly. The People's
Republic has established itself as one of the ten most important buyer
countries of German products in this industry. In 2006 Germany exported
optical technology worth a total of about € 49 million to
China. This equals an increase of 20.4 percent over 2005.
Germany, a center of innovation, presents "German World of Laser & Photonics" in China
In the world of optical technology, Germany represents the peak.
Every fourth laser system for material processing is "made in Germany,"
and in medical technology German is the second largest exporter
worldwide. At the "German World of Laser & Photonics," which is
being held as part of the trade show LASER World of PHOTONICS China,
German companies will make presentations in order to further develop
the Chinese market for themselves and to organize cooperation with
Chinese companies.
The event will feature an information center where universities and
research institutes can introduce themselves. Special shows on key
applications of laser technology in the areas of manufacturing, life
sciences, and lighting will show lasers at work.
The organizers of the "German World of Laser & Photonics" are the
Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie (BMWi) [Federal
Ministry for Science and Technology] and the Ausstellungs- und
Messe-Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft e.V. (AUMA) [Association of
the German Trade Fair Industry]. They are supported by the SPECTARIS
industrial association. Internationale Messe- und Ausstellungsdienst
(IMAG) [International Trade Fair and Exhibition Service], a subsidiary
of Messe München GmbH, is responsible for implementation.
