LASER 2008. World of Photonics China in Shanghai gives German companies a unique opportunity to present themselves to the rapidly growing Chinese market at "German World of Laser & Photonics", a special show co-organized by the German government. Dr. Johannes Hain from Schott AG is Exhibitor President of the special show.
The regional trade show LASER 2008. World of Photonics China and "German World of Laser & Photonics" are being held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from March 18-20, 2008. The objective of the special show is to give German companies a high-profile platform where they can demonstrate their performance capabilities and expertise in optical technologies to the Chinese market.
"German World of Laser and Photonics" is a special exhibit organized by the BMWi (German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology) and AUMA (Association of the German Trade Fair Industry). Having Dr. Johannes Hain, Executive Vice President Business Unit Advanced Materials at Schott AG, as Exhibitor President gives them a high-ranking representative of the German optical industry in that position.
Schott AG has been active on the Asian market - and the Chinese market in particular - for years and generates 20 percent of its Group sales there. Its goal is to continue expanding its share of the market. The business segment "Schott Advanced Optics" has production facilities, an application center and several sales representatives in China.
China is a very important trade partner for the optical technologies sector. Last year German companies saw a nearly 10-percent increase in sales and reported an export percentage of some 60 percent. The purpose of "German World of Laser & Photonics" is to promote contacts between German and Chinese partners and to continue expanding the rapidly growing Chinese market for German companies.
"German World of Laser & Photonics" enjoys the support of Spectaris and ZVEI. IMAG (International Trade Fairs and Exhibition Service), a subsidiary of Munich International Trade Fairs, is responsible for organizing the exhibit.
