New line of diode-pumped laser for micro-drilling and ablation

LASAG presents the new diode-pumped solid-state laser series DQS 200 for micro-drilling and ablation of metals and ceramics materials at LASER 2007 in Munich. With the 40-watt model DQS 200 MD5 we offer a nanosecond short-pulse laser that has been developed specifically for the micro drilling strategies known as helical drilling, percussion drilling and ablation.

For high productivity, it is possible with the new laser system together with an appropriate drilling optic to drill high-quality holes in a diameter range of 0.02 to 0.40 mm and hole depths of more than 1.0 mm with tolerances of a few micrometers.

The high reproducibility and quality of the drilling hole is guaranteed by a stabile, closed resonator including precise connection of the external drilling optic as well as high pulse-to-pulse stability of under ±1%.

An additional new laser control of the DQS 200 that was consistently developed for the demands of the above-mentioned drilling strategies offers excellent integration in production plants and a high level of user-friendliness. The laser supply and laser control are integrated in a compact supply chassis, which can additionally accept application-specific plug-ins such as power supply and control of a helical drilling optic.

Supporting program for the LASER World of PHOTONICS 2013
The LASER World of PHOTONICS 2013, which will be taking place from 13 to 16 May 2013 on the Messe München site, will provide an important impetus to the international photonics industry at its 40th anniversary event. The world’s leading trade fair offers a comprehensive supporting program and numerous opportunities to exchange technical news and views. The program highlights are the World of Photonics Congress practical lectures in the Photonics forums, the presentation event “Photonic Industry Report 2013”, the new “Digital Photonics Production” special exhibition and other top-class events on everything to do with Photonics trends. Every two years, the world’s leading trade fair for the optical technologies, together with the World of Photonics Congress, brings together the global leaders of the photonics industry in Munich.
