Intense announced the HPD1110 1064nm laser diodes at the Laser 2007 exhibition in Munich. The HPD Series 1110-1064 are high power, Continuous Wave (CW) lasers that simulate the Nd:YAG wavelength of 1064nm. Based on the company’s patented Asymmetric Waveguide technology, which is designed to increase the power and reliability of high power laser diodes, the HPD1110 lasers provide the power, efficiency, and beam quality needed for today’s industrial applications, including solid-state laser pumping, free space communications, and illumination.
The HPD1110-1064 laser diodes are designed to operate at 1 Watt CW and can be configured for short pulse mode. Higher powers are available on request. Broad area, multimode emitters, the HPD1110-1064 provide stable operation at room temperature. Standard packages include 9MM, C, TO3, and HHL. Fiber pigtails and volume Bragg gratings are optional.
More Reliable and Efficient Diode Lasers
The strength of the HPD1110-1064 diode lasers is based on Intense-HPD’s patented Asymmetric Waveguide (AW) technology which is designed to increase the power and reliability of high power laser diodes. Power degradation of high power lasers is mainly due to the optical power density in the quantum well active region. Using a patented asymmetric epitaxial structure, the optical energy is spread into a large waveguide, reducing the power density in the quantum well, producing a significantly more robust and efficient device.
The HPD1110-1064 is part of the HPD Series 1100 product family that covers the wavelength range of 886nm to 1064nm. The 1100 Series can range in power from .5W up to 4W in selected wavelengths below 1064nm spectrum.
