Newport announces the Spectra-Physics Pulseo high peak power UV laser |
Newport Corporation's Spectra-Physics Lasers Division introduced the new high-power, high repetition rate Pulseo Q-switched diode-pumped solid state (DPSS) UV laser. With 20 W of output power at 355 nm and a short pulse width of 20 nanoseconds (ns) at a repetition rate of 100 kHz, the Pulseo is an ideal solution for a wide range of OEM applications including via hole drilling, wafer scribing and dicing, solar cell processing, and other material processing. The Pulseo laser oscillator is designed to deliver the high-intensity peak power needed to enable next-generation high-precision micromachining applications. The Master Oscillator Power Amplifier (MOPA) delivers high peak power pulses, while maintaining a short pulse width. It is pumped by Spectra-Physics' field-replaceable FCBar™ ProLite® diodes for long lifetime and easy maintenance. Other key features of the laser include high pulse energy (>200 µJ/pulse), a wide repetition rate range of up to 250 kHz, excellent pulse-to-pulse stability, and a compact industrial architecture for easy integration. "The Spectra-Physics Pulseo Laser was designed to be the most reliable high power, high repetition rate UV laser available today," said Wolfgang Juchmann, PhD., Product Manager at Newport's Spectra-Physics Lasers Division.
