Six conferences in one congress

The World of Photonics Congress consists of six autonomous conferences (listed below). As leading conferences for optical technologies, they also feature integrated application-oriented industry workshops and several other special events.

People attending the World of Photonics Congress purchase a ticket to one conference, but they may visit six of the seven events for no additional fee.

The European Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics and the International Quantum Electronics Conference (CLEO®/Europe-IQEC) is the largest and prestigious gathering of optics and photonics researchers and engineers organized in Europe in 2007. IQEC incorporates the X Quantum Electronics Conference (EQEC) providing a world-wide international flavor.

 Hot Topics: Optical Measurement Systems for Industrial Inspection V, Modeling Aspects in Optical Metrology, Optics for Arts, Architecture, and Archaeology The conference 'lasers in manufacturing' (LIM 2007) aims to bring together researchers from throughout the world presenting latest aspects of manufacturing, applying laser technology in the nano, the micro and the macro range.

*** Trends in Optoelectronics: Optoelectronics synergetically merge photonics and electronics and is successfully used for information retrieval, processing, transport and utilisation.Light is becoming increasingly important for the measuring and verifying of human characteristics, such as fingerprints, and without the laser scanner shopping would take much more time. *** Electronic Imaging: Electronic imaging is pervasive! Whether in cell phones or in laptops, in still-picture or in video cameras, in game consoles or in toys, for scientific imaging or for artistic documentation, for biomedical diagnoses or for industrial production, for business or for entertainment: Solid-state image sensors are ubiquitous and indispensable tools for almost any human activity in everyday life.

This meeting aims to provide a interdisciplinary plattform for the exchange on medical laser applications, with a special emphasis on the perception of medical practitioners. The sessions will focus on new methods that base on newest technical delopements. Reports from established medical doctors will give the attendees a capacious idea of the potential of medical laser devices.

The Industry Workshops are designed for application near working audience. They are focussing on topics from manufacturing processes. They are meant to be clearly non-sicentific. Hot Topics: Remote Welding, Optimizing the Welding Process, Mirco Manufacturing, etc.
