News - 06.09.2010
Recovery and new opportunities spur 9% growth in laser market
On the 50th anniversary of the laser, the global market for lasers is expected to grow by $2.6 billion to $8.8 billion in 2014, a compound annual growth rate of 9%. This is more moderate than the average rate of 14% over the history of the market. Worldwide laser sales fell 25% in 2009, the first decline since 2000, but 2009 was still among the 6 top revenue years in the history of the laser. These are among the findings in a new report, Laser 2010, from Strategies Unlimited, the leader in market research of the photonics industry.
High brightness light emitting diodes - Global Market Forecast & Analysis
The global consumption value of HB-LEDs in 2009 was nearly $4.9 billion. The consumption value is forecasted to increase to $15.03 billion in 2015.
PV installations and module shipments up in 2009
The PV market – in terms of both new installations and shipments of PV modules and inverters grew substantially in 2009 according to recently released analysis from IMS Research.
