The World of Photonics Congress 2005 was held from June 12-17 in Munich at the International Congress Center in Munich in conjunction with the LASER. World of Photonics Trade show.

More than 2.500 representives from industrial and scientific fields attended the 17th international Conference on Photonics in Europe. The visitors, that are dealing with scientific topics were at this juncture with over 70% in the majority. The attendees were mostly from outside of Germany (>80%), which underlined the high internationality of the event. There was a significant increase of attendees from the US as well as from the asian area.

By purchasing a ticket for only one conference, the attendees could access the entire congress, that means the other 5 conferences as well. This offer was intensely used by the visitors, so that there arose an additional exchange in respect of contents between the conferences.
