In a special exhibition, industrial and academic research networks will present and demonstrate novel optical technologies and systems for biomedical applications. The exhibition illustrates the progress of ongoing R&D projects funded by the BMBF within the Framework of Biophotonics Research Priority. This framework supports interdisciplinary research projects which are seeking to understand diseases by optical means. Researchers are committed to developing methods to find the causes of diseases such as cancer or infections and to improve their treatment. About 50 million Euro have been made available for this initiative so far. |
